It's all about the prevention of heart disease through partnerships.      


Supermarket Partners

Seven supermarket chains will support HeadsUp on Heart Disease® 2005 by distributing the HeadsUp on Heart Disease booklet to their customers and promoting the program in their circulars and on their Websites.

In the Philadelphia/southern New Jersey region, Clemens® Markets, Genuardi’s® Markets, McCaffrey’s® Supermarkets will participate in the program for the third time. Three others - Acme®, Pathmark® Stores, Inc. and Super Fresh® - will support the Philadelphia/southern New Jersey program for the second time.

This year, Kroger® joins the program in Atlanta.

Some of these chains will be sampling selected recipes from the HeadsUp on Heart Disease booklets and TV shows in their stores during February 2005, American Heart . See Events (pdf, 93kb) for a schedule.

Philadelphia / New Jersey Market Participating Retailers

Acme is a Northeast retailer operating combination stores and supermarkets for a total of 137 locations in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Clemens Family Markets is proud to be the largest family-owned and operated business in the Delaware Valley. Clemens serves Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, and Delaware Counties currently with 20 full-service supermarkets, as well as 2 Foodsource by Clemens, a specialty food store in Bryn Mawr and Glen Mills, Pennsylvania.

Genuardi's Markets, a division of Safeway Inc. since early 2001, has been serving Delaware Valley shoppers for more than 80 years. McCaffrey's® Supermarkets is a local, family-owned business with three stores serving Bucks and Mercer Counties for the last 20 years.
